Title: The West Burns
Published: Crooksandliars.com
Date: Aug. 25, 2020
About this cartoon: California, along with other states, was overwhelmed with hundreds of wildfires erupting at once due to lightening strikes from freakish storms. The 600-plus fires were beyond what fire crews could handle, and some of them merged into a couple of the largest wildfires in California history. The role of climate change is quite evident in disrupted weather patterns, hotter days and dryer conditions, and as fires were hitting the West, repeated hurricanes were punching the Gulf Coast in another manifestation of climate change.
